Ohio Avenue Pocket Park

  • Dream it.

With a goal of providing amenities and garden plots to the neighborhood, as well as signs of vitality, the Olde Towne East Neighborhood Association proposed site enhancements for the Olde Towne East Pocket Park in 2016. While some enhancements have been made to the site over the last several years, additional enhancements such as decorative fencing and plantings, to the site will create opportunities for community farmer’s markets, community gatherings and food access.

In addition to enhancing the lot, the proposal looks to utilize an adjacent City-owned parking lot for food trucks that would not only give the community access to food and vending options but would also provide access for nearby businesses and provide the community with an asset for years to come.

  • Build it.

  • Grow it.

As a community-run park, Ohio Avenue Pocket Park relies on the support of volunteers and the surrounding neighborhood to keep it clean, safe, and vibrant. With spring just around the corner, the park is seeking volunteers to help with a variety of tasks, such as planting and weeding, cleaning up litter, and organizing events.

The park is an important community asset that provides a space for people of all ages to come together, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with their neighbors. If you live in the Olde Towne East area and want to help support this wonderful community resource, consider volunteering your time and energy to keep Ohio Avenue Pocket Park beautiful and welcoming.
