Artist Suzanne Betz Gallagher (S. Betz Gallagher) first came to Olde Towne East on the suggestion of Jim Arter, long-time Bryden Road resident and Associate Artist with the Greater Columbus Arts Council. C.S. Gallery on Parsons was looking for an artist to develop a studio in the back of its gallery, and Jim felt that Suzanne was perfect for the space.
But after only 11 months, Suzanne began to outgrow the 300 square foot studio.
Coincidentally, at the same time that Suzanne was looking to expand, the owner of Cleo’s Bridal & Formal on the corner of Oak and Parsons was looking to move on to other opportunities in another city. For Suzanne, the availability of a 1,500 square foot space right next to her existing space was a dream come true.
“I love Olde Towne!,” says Suzanne. “The fabulous new wide open space will feature movable walls, spacious tall ceilings and great energy. And it’s only only two blocks from the Columbus Museum of Art!”
A grand opening of the studio is scheduled for Friday, May 11th from 7-10pm. The grand opening will be a collector’s night, where individuals who purchase a ticket will receive an original sketch from S. Betz Gallagher.
“My Collector’s Nights have been my favorite fun way to raise money for my passion,” says the artist. “It is not just a ticket for an art show, it is an investment in my dream.”
The grand opening will feature entertainment and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $30 for individual and $40 for couple (one sketch per ticket; couples have one ticket). Tickets are available by calling 614.202.8106.
