Olde Towne East Gearing Up for WOSU’s “Columbus Neighborhoods” Feature

WOSU has chosen Olde Towne East as the final neighborhood in its Emmy-nominated series, “Columbus Neighborhoods.”

The Columbus Neighborhoods project was designed to celebrate Columbus’ 2012 bicentennial. It will include a series of six hour-long documentaries, as well as extensive online resources about the city’s historic neighborhoods. According to WOSU, the project will be “one of the most visible and memorable projects associated with the observance of the city’s bicentennial.”

So far, the series has completed documentaries on Short North, German Village, King Lincoln, and University District. The Downtown & Franklinton combo documentary is in production now.

The production and presentation of WOSU’s Columbus Neighborhoods will culminate in 2012 during Columbus’s 2012 Bicentennial Celebration with special screenings, broadcasts, and community events.

The Olde Towne East documentary is scheduled to air in Fall 2012. Right now, WOSU is seeking interviews, stories, photos, and videos from local Olde Towne East residents and businesses for inclusion in the documentary. If you would like to submit a story, contact WOSU at www.columbusneighborhoods.org.
